February 25, 2017 – Scroll down to download MC script and / or Bride and Groom Questionnaire
It took me a total of four flights and three changes to make it to Mayen’s wedding a couple of weeks ago in South Palms Beach Resort, Bohol. I was supposed to fly in with my ex, but the airline screwed up the plane maintenance schedule without informing its passengers in advance… (*slow clap*)
When I found out, I gave a mini sigh of relief. I didn’t have to bump into him and get into an awkward situation. (Phew!) But when we actually did see each other in Panglao Island it turned out to be a reunion between two decent people who honestly want the other to be happy 🙂 #breakupgoals ? If you’re my ex and you’re reading this right now, please don’t kill me. I didn’t mean to write this in, but you know, sometimes.. word vomit…

Being in my late twenties, I definitely thought I would have more budget to travel more. Hence the name of this website. Little did I realize how much of that budget would be used for travelling to my friends’ destination weddings. (Do you see how I neatly tied together travel and weddings, making this post totally relevant to travel blogging?!)
The second responsibility was to be the MC / host. And of course I crammed the whole script the morning before I flew from Manila to Bohol, after I flew in from Hong Kong…

Finally, how did I do as a host? Well, for my first stint, at least I can describe it as ‘unforgettable’ ;)…! Really awkward at first, and then I got a couple of glasses of wine in me, a few inappropriate jokes here and there, memory loss, and then my French co-host who was supposed to translate into French went off to become the lead guitarist of the band, whose drummer was actually the groom’s father from Toulouse… playing ‘Noypi’ by Bamboo, the heavily-French-accented version…
I may appear the bitter bridesmaid, but I honest-to-goodness adore weddings and by all means everyone, please have kickass weddings and invite me to them :))
